No style, tone or language options for guests: one Paraphrase button and a 125-word counter. Text A (109 words) came back as one 113-word version. It kept every claim, including academic integrity and over-reliance (“over-dependence on automated support”), and added nothing. It mostly swapped words: “unprecedented opportunities” became “extraordinary chances”, “balance” became “equilibrium”.
The moment we clicked back into the box for text B, a window opened: “Get Grammarly for free to get more”, with “Create an Account” and “Sign up with Google”. Clicking Paraphrase on text B reopened it. So: one free run per visit.

ProWritingAid
The demo offers ten “Sparks” modes (Fluency is the default) and a 1,500-character box. Text A produced a rewrite, but the demo editor cut the text off mid-word at “nurturing independent t”, so we only saw the first four and a half sentences. Those kept the original points. After one run the page showed “-3 daily uses left.”, and on reload the output panel was replaced by: “Thanks for trying our demo tool. Want more? Sign up for free to get 3 Sparks per day”. Text B couldn’t be run.

Wordtune
The guest box on the paraphrasing page stops at 250 characters (“Oops, you reach your limited character”) and counts down from 3 rewrites. Our 109-word text is about three times that, so it rewrote only the first sentence and a half, as several alternatives. The full editor requires an account.

QuillBot
The page title reads “Paraphrasing Tool (Ad-Free and No Sign-up Required)”. In our test, clicking Paraphrase in the free Standard mode opened “Sign up to continue” (Google, Facebook, Apple or email), and it did so again on the second try. Standard and Fluency are listed as free; Formal, Academic, Creative, Humanize and four others are Premium.
